CONFLUENCE 

These drawings are about the interweaving of two ideas. Like a vortex created when two rivers combine, the ripples create a continuous pattern.  I take two seemingly opposite ideas and weave them into one in this series.

Bisected Thoughts (click on image to see series) Dividing one original object into many parts.  Such as the view from an airplane of suburban sprawl.  An organized, sometimes jagged, geometric form of roads and houses overlaying the land.  Or of the sudden shift and pattern of a road that bisects a farm.

Linear Boundaries (click on image to see series) Boundaries of two forms (man made or natural) consistently intersecting - one form of nature effecting another.  Much like the ocean washing over the sand, clearing the day's pattern or imprints.
