I broke my wrist in the fall of 2016 and now have a plate and a dozen screws in my right wrist. During the 8 months of recovery what I could not do was utmost on my mind.
These drawings are about investigating the movement i can do with my wrist.
These drawings I imagined flying above the places I had traveled. Hence the titles "From Above"

Playing with Orange
I traditional did not use the color orange. So with this series I jumped of the cliff and said it will be all about orange.
Drawings stayed in sketchbook as the beginning until Portugal. I took a year off and traveled in 2009 to clarify my thoughts. I had a pack back, some art supplies and a plan. My plan was not to have a plan.
I started rethinking shape and form. The square format worked. My drawings were not about landscape or portraits, up or down, but about an internal structure externalized. The subject matter was boundaries, layers, and texture. I was internalizing the surroundings and history into these drawings The merging created a landscape base for the topology created by the overlay of lines. The linear lines contrast the organic shapes. Beauty is a balance between order and chaos.

Playing with Color
This series were born out of frustrated. I had very specific ideas when I started this series and it was going no where. So I put them in a draw and ignored them. In the bitter cold of February 213 I opened the draw and said lets have some fun. I pulled out everything and worked on the series of Monoprints. I used everything in my studio from watercolors to oil based inks. Hence the name Kitchen Sink.
